How far can I have the fish tank/pond from the grow beds?

Hi,
I'm in the process of buying a new house and I'm trying to figure out what I can do with the yard layout. There's a great place for the fish pond, but it's very far from where the vegetable grow beds can go. There's space for a stream to connect the two. The only systems I've used/built were adjacent to each other, so I'm not familiar with the downsides or what I need to look out for with separating them (approx 20 feed apart).

Hi Curt,

Welcome to the community. I am not sure what you mean by a stream, but really they can be as far apart as your pump can pump the water back to the grow beds. The problem becomes the cost of the pump you need to pump the water back, but if the head height is not that much of a difference, then the cost of the pump might not be that bad. Do you have an examples of what you are thinking of building?
