    Cloning Plants

Has anyone attempted cloning plants in a GB? I stuck some blueberry cuttings into my GB to see if they will root. Also stuck a couple grape cuttings. About 2 weeks ago, I pulled up a small cantelope or cucumber seedling that took to a crack in the sidewalk. when I pulled it out, the roots stayed. I stuck it in the GB and it is still alive and slowly growing.

Yeah, putting cuttings in the grow beds works great. They may wilt a little at first but putting a plastic container over top of it works until it gets some roots.
Nothin to it but to do it yourself

bsfman....are you rooting the 'suckers' you pull off larger plants ?

I find that mint sprigs seem to root within a few days...

Absolutely, David! I think here in Florida, it may be possible to keep a perpetual crop of tomatos going just from rooting suckers from the older plants.

I have had success with many herbs. Am trying roses now, the ornamentals seem to have a higher rate of return than edible ones.
