    My new system

First of all let me just say that Bell Siphons are very very annoying to get to work correctly haha. But on a lighter note after much agony haha It works!!

My top grow bed floods and drains in 7m18s and then the air kicks in on the siphon and breaks it. The water then gives the bottom a little flood and drain also!

I plan to buy comet goldfish to go in the bottom tank. The temperature is currently residing at 18 C and i am wondering if i should flick on the heater to hover the temp at 22. Tomorrow I am hooking up my grow light which will suspend above and added with the window light the veggies should grow fine!

yup the bell siphons are a trip. i have one that works great for several days then it will screw up and not break siphon for a while then start working again, beats the heck out of me. so i've built 3 larger ones i'll see how well they work. the first time my greenhouse looked like a pvc graveyard.

Thanks for sharing My first system looked a lot like that because I used the same tubs!!! What a small world!!!

Hydroton is very expensive compared to other options, but it works great for very small systems!

You need to check out Affnan's bell siphon.

Using his design principles I was able to make a bell siphon that worked first shot and after adding the small leak hole the siphon works even better.
