I was wondering I found a filter that is full of ceramic, they look like slightly larger tube beads. Would that be ok to put inline after the pump?

As ceramic filter breaks down would it add calcium to the water?

any chance you can give us an idea how that tower works or how I could build one myself , is it basically a tall swirl filter with airstones ??? or is there more to it
