HellO! From Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada!

Quite interested in aquaponics, especially in using Tilapia to not only grow vegetables for my community but to also spear awareness of sustainable and alternative growing practices.

Just a kindly, 'hello', from the Northerners !

    Cheers,
    Jason

    welcome to the forum!

you might find that conditions for tilapia are... less than ideal in new brunswick... they like warm water and thrive when it's 80f.. kind hard to keep water that warm for very long up north (i live on the coast of lake erie)
look to see what fish are available in your area..
a good quality fish feed will grow out trout, catfish, bluegill, perch, crappie etc.. in about a year to 18 months, and they can handle much cooler water (tilapia won't last below 50 and growth is slowed below 60 or so)

good luck, and keep us up to date on your progress
