You have no idea how many hours of research, careful thought and keyboard banging it took to produce the articles I wrote. Some of them were pretty long. I did have a co-conspirator (a full blood Cherokee....a distance relative of my Grandmother) helping out with a few articles but when the hammer came down on the site, he bailed and I can't blame him. The Cherokee Nation has suffered enough at the hands of the so called American Government. You interested? As I told Keith_r...I could use the help.

Grrrr. . . Why do conservatives always have to be so vitriolic? I get so tired of liberals being accused of not loving their country, or being somehow less patriotic than conservatives. People, America's enemies are not **OTHER** Americans. I come here to relax and to learn, and then have to put up with this kind of garbage. What does any of this have to do with the President appearing on Mythbusters? I thought about not posting here at all, but some of this is just too much to let pass. Unfortunately, I only have about enough energy to address the most ridiculous post on this thread.

Ya'll know better....don't get me started. I've already lost one good posting member (a dyed in the wool Liberal through and through) because of my political views.

I remember when America was Americans for Americans not illegal aliens rights, Muslim sensitivity, gay rights, christian haters, gun rights abolitionist, other people telling you how to raise your children and let's don't forget the humongous welfare bunch, regardless of skin color; nothing but an entire culture of lazy good for nothing dead beats living off the sweat and hard work of the middle class.

There is no doubt in my mind that President Muslim Obama and every single liberal in America are now and in the future with every chance they get, trying to bring about the downfall of the American way of life. Most of it is already been obliterated. I guarantee you I have a cure for them but the admin won't let me publish such ideas and language here

"Illegal Aliens"- Forget the fence. My cure for illegal aliens is to arrest and severely fine any American employers who hire them. Make examples of them. Confiscate their summer homes and yachts. Take away jobs from illegals and they'll all leave. Punish the greedy scum-bags willing to make a higher profit by paying substandard wages. Cure the disease and the symptoms will go away.

"Muslim Sensitivity"- I may be an atheist, but I still defend the right of anyone to believe as they wish, including you. Shouldn't we all be sensitive about the beliefs of others? Isn't that what a decent American should do?

"Gay Rights"- Gays are human too. Live and let live. Nobody deserves the type of treatment that most gays have had to endure in this country, especially the kids. You think it's a choice? Tell that to the ones who commit suicide once they realize their sexual preference. Any two people who can find love and comfort with each other should have the right to marry if they want. Won't have any effect on the rest of us, so where's the problem?

"Christian Haters"- No worse than Muslim haters, IMO. Fact is, religious people of all faiths do hateful things in the name of 'their' god. Hate doesn't care about faith. You obviously hate a lot of things. Did you learn that from the Bible, or is it just your nature? I don't care much for christians who believe I'm evil because I'm an atheist. It seems to me that I have much higher moral principles than many a 'good' christian. As a liberal, I try to stand up for the poor and the oppressed, just like Jesus supposedly did. I do volunteer charity work and have been known to take homeless people to lunch. I donate money to the Clinton Foundation to help with poverty around the world, but won't give money to religious charities since they have strings attached to their aid.

"Gun Rights"- Nothing wrong with guns, just some of the people who own them. I grew up in the woods. I don't hunt any more, but if I did, I'd hate to have to kill an elk with my bare hands or even a spear. I do resent feeling that I need to carry a firearm to protect myself from people who claim to have a "cure" for my way of thinking. The majority of Dems do support the right to own guns, as do I. It's the amount of regulation needed that is up for debate. It's not anti-American to feel that certain kinds of weapons do not need to be made available to the general public. RPGs come to mind, for instance, or maybe full-auto assault weapons. I like the idea of background checks too. Might have kept the weapon out of the hand of the convicted felon that tried to shoot the school board members this week. Maybe stopped the mentally disturbed whacko that killed a cop and several of my neighbors about a year ago too, despite warnings from his mother. Seems like guns are more often used to kill family members and other innocent people rather than crooks, but hey, small sacrifice to pay for our constitutional right to bear arms. Wish there was a way to make to make a firearm that only hurt those who deserve it.

"Abolitionists"?- Really? You're opposed to people who are against slavery? I hate to tell you, but the Civil War is over. The North won.

"Other people telling you how to raise your children"- Damn right! It shouldn't be necessary, but some people evidently need to be reminded that it's not nice to assault their own children by whipping them, sexually abusing them, neglecting to feed them, etc. Not to mention making sure they get medical attention, get an education, aren't forced to work in sweatshops, and so on. You have a problem with that? It's wrong to abuse animals too, IMO.

"The humungous welfare bunch"- You must be talking about all those big-shot bankers who got bailed out with money taken right out of my pocket. I hear they're about to pay out a record $144 billion in bonuses this year. All we got at the construction company where I work was a 10 percent pay cut for those who didn't get laid off. Oh, we lost our health insurance too. Guess if I get too sick, I'll have to hang out at the emergency room with all the other deadbeats and illegals. Hope you don't mind picking up the tab. At my wife's job, they all got cut to 4 days per week. Those bankers get to borrow their money at zero interest. Me, I'm stuck with a mortgage at a high interest rate, yet my bailed out bank won't give me a refinance. Yeah, lets get rid of even MORE banking regulations so those poor rich folks can get even richer. When I was a kid, it only took one working adult to support a family. Now it takes two, and that is barely enough. Our welfare for the rich has funneled so much money uphill since "Reaganomics" started in the 80's, that their wealth has increased fivefold, while middle class income has remained essentially flat. But, of course, the wealthiest Americans need even more right now, in the form of extended tax cuts and a more generous estate tax. Damn the deficit! Let the rich get richer so they can continue to trickle down on us. Why should a single working mom be able to get food stamps when her wages aren't enough to pay a rent that's skyrocketed due to the mess the banking industry created through their greed? The lazy b*tch ought to feel terrible for taking money that could have gone into some rich kid's trust fund.

BTW, in 2009, the actual Welfare budget for Families and Children was $80 billion, or a humungous 2 percent of the total federal budget ($3,997.2 billion.) Federal subsidies for corporations, otherwise known as corporate welfare, ran about $100 billion. Corporate profits for 2010 are projected to be the highest in 60 years and last quarter was an all time record. Look it all up. Fact check my numbers.

True...this forum is about aquaponics...the Sump Thread however was created for what settles to the bottom....as in SUMP....nothing to do with aquaponics, but everyone is welcome to read and respond on it as long as they don't get personal. Up until your post....we were all doing just fine without trying to rip each other apart because of what we know or believe in.

I agree with you 100% on your ideas about what should be done to the companies that employ them except all the illegals wouldn’t go home because they get government support for their anchor babies….welfare just like Democrat Reid and Polisi are trying to put in place now!

Gun registration is the first move and it’s what Hitler did. If they are all registered, then when they decide to outlaw them all together as they did in England and Australia, they know exactly where they are. Take a look at some of the horror stories of what the confiscation of the guns have done to the people in those countries. Crime went through the ceiling and the innocent are persecuted for trying to protect themselves and the criminal are idolized by the media and coddled by the courts.

Shows you really weren’t paying attention or were so worked up you didn’t realize that I didn’t say anything about “ABOLITIONIST”. What I actually said was “gun rights abolitionist”. Quite a difference but if you think the Civil War is truly over, I invite you down to some of the Southern states for a visit, say Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina or even Florida. The “Stars and Bars” still flies like it or not.

Do you realize that in the State of Florida it is against the law for a parent to raise their voice at their child? It is a misdemeanor and punishable by imprisonment. Do you really think that isn’t intrusion upon the rights of a parent?

Actually I don’t have a problem with preventing such behavior toward children but in Florida we have the Department of Children and Families….a government run agency and on way too many occasions I have seen them remove a child from such situations only to return them and the child winding up either dead or so badly broken mentally and physically the state winds up having to support them the rest of their life. That’s your big Democratic government at work.

One case in particular comes to mind that happened not so long ago. A mother living on welfare had a two year old boy. She also had a live in boy friend which would have prevented her from receiving welfare had the government done their job properly and investigate it. The mother went to the store to get some baby food leaving the boy friend with the child and while she was gone, the baby started crying because he was hungry. The boyfriend began to beat the child trying to make him stop crying breaking several major bones in the process. It was reported to DCF and the government came and took the child away. No charges were brought against the boyfriend and eventually DCF gave the child back to the mother. Shortly the child was returned the same scenario repeated itself only this time in an effort to stop the child from crying, the boy friend held him up-side-down and bashed his head into the commode until the child stopped crying. He stopped because he was “DEAD”! Where was your wonderful child protecting officials then and why in hell did they ever give the child back to a mother who would allow the same man to ever come back into her home again….why…because the state didn’t want him.

When I was a kid, it only took one working adult to support a family. Now it takes two, and that is barely enough.

One working adult, that must have been nice. I was raised on a farm in the 40s, 50s up to early 60s by my Grandparents when I was a kid. School (both Elementary and High School) got two vacations a year. One in the spring for planting and cultivating the crops (mainly cotton) during which time every man woman and child worked in the fields for meager wages to the tune of $.50 per hour from sun up till sundown seven day per week. I started working in the fields when I was about 3 or 4 years old so I know what it is all about and it wasn’t the life you had.

OH yes, and the other school vacation was in the fall of the year for the harvest. I stated picking cotton when a 50 lb potato sack would drag the ground from sun up till sun down seven day per week for 2 to 4 cents per pound. Do you have any idea what raw cotton directly out of the field weights? Then you put a sack full of cotton weighing up to 100 lbs on your shoulder and some times have to carry it ¼ mile just to weight it up then you have to empty it and go back for more.

I joined the Navy two weeks out of high school to get away from it. Where were you in ’62?

What you have just described is the Socialism the Democrats have been pushing for years. Their goal is to have everyone on the tit of the government so they can control them!

The problem with your previous statement is that it doesn’t cover all the monies handed out to the welfare bunch. Up until July of last year I had owned and operated my own accounting and tax preparation company for some 25 years. I started it by myself sitting in an office doing it all on paper…no computers back then. At one time, until I sold off four of the offices, I had five offices in Jacksonville, Fl. I had to close the last on in July of last year because of the Democratic economic mess. Do you know about the IRS rules about head of household and earned income credit? I do! Head of household means a parent either single (never married which covered most), separated or divorced with one or more children that has their own home. No one else living with them can claim this benefit but it is done all the time usually by the boy friend or another relative who claims one or two of the children. So often I have done taxes for these people that it makes me sick to think the government (Democrats) actually put this law in place under the pretense of helping the poor. It, like all welfare, is meant to control not help.

I had one female client with 5 kids who had never been married and worked as a stripper (I don’t see how…she was so ugly and fat. I don’t think she was actually employed anywhere). She knew just exactly how much she could clam she made in tips to be able to qualify for the most money back from head of household and earned income credit. She almost always walked away with a refund check for around 8 grand each year. Then her live in boyfriend would come in and claim some of the kids and walk away with another pile of money. Then you have those that come in claiming to have been taking care of someone else’s kid/s and they to claim head of household and earned income credit. I had one man actually get on the phone while he was sitting in front of me calling around trying to find someone who would let him claim their child so he could qualify. Initially reported them all to the IRS all it did for me was cost me business and the IRS never did any thing so I finally said hell with it. If I don’t do it they will just go elsewhere.

I’m quite sure the monies paid out to the welfare bunch in this manner doesn’t show up in your welfare figures but it is welfare just the same and it amounts to millions a year.

While I’m talking about the “WELFARE BUNCH”. Let’s clarify those that it is directed at. White, black, yellow, brown or purple….I don’t care. The welfare bunch are those that have never or rarely worked, whose parents have never or rarely worked, whose parents never or rarely worked. They have been raised and trained generation after generation just exactly how to work the system. The females rarely get married but do start having children at a very young age and they are taught just exactly how many kids they can have and still draw money for their self as a single parent and each child until that child is 18 or graduates from college which is rarely the case. Most times, though not all, none of the children have the same father. What a life….getting supported quite nicely sometime even to the tune of a new house in a lot of cases, subsidized rent and more and never have to work for any of it while laying up in bed making babies. What a deal.

Do you have a solution as to how to remove these useless individuals form the system and putting them to work doing the jobs the illegals are doing? I’m willing to listen and even back you if it is feasible.

the world bank(what a tyranical organization), wall street, fed reserve, capitalism at it's best. we are allowed to vote for the candidates that we are allowed to choose between. the candidates are already bought and paid for and we really think we have a say in the matter, remember the electorial college.

the agenda hasn't changed for at least a hundred years, it is right on track. we still argueably are the greatest nation on the planet, but don't blink, it's rapidly changing.

fear is the greatest motivator, look at how many of our freedoms have disapeared since 9/11. there have always been terrorist, but not the police state we have today.

objectives: complete food control, complete water control, limiting of travel/at least monitoring travel. a new one the ability to force the public to buy a product or be financially penalized by government through the IRS, with the med bill. what did polizi say, we have to pass it before we know what's in it? the authers of it know damn well what's in it. it is a powerful move for the gov to enforce more control on the people. oh, have you ever delt with the irs, guilty until proven innocent. you pay first and maybe years later you get restitution. in the mean time your name is blackened.
