    Re: introductions

Greetings from the Southern California High Desert.

Thanks to Jack for pointing me to this group.

I'm an almost retired aerospace engineer and along with my partner Grace, are building turn-key aquaponics systems. These are small systems each with a 100+ gallon fish tank that will support one to two 10 square foot grow beds, one flood and drain and one flooded.

On the single grow bed unit, the fish tank sits directly under the grow bed. The additional grow bed (if added) will sit next to the single system. These systems are currently in test and soon to be in our own greenhouse (a Rion 8.5' X 28'). We are putting the final configuration touches on now and they should be ready for purchase in a couple of months.

I'll be keeping you posted with pictures of our progress. Our first goal is, of course, to get our own system up and running, not only as a test bed (pun intended) but also so we can begin to enjoy the benefits of growing our own organic food.

For more info and some pictures of our early design, go to http://www.aquaponicsusa.com/

    Hey Oliver,

It's really strange...Badflash has a white beard, I have a white beard and here you come looking almost like both of us, of course, I can say I'm the better looking one because I don't have a picture posted to compare to

Really strange, I had a guy call me the other day from Colorado looking for someone to set up an aquaponics operation for him and I told him to email me with the particulars and I would check my sources and find someone in his area, but he never did send the email...really strange...I only mention it here because I just now remembered it...mind ain't what it use to be

Anyway...welcome and please keep the post coming and let us know what you're up to

What is terribly strange is that I also am sporting a white beard. Is that a auqaponics thing? I won't claim the better looking thing though!

    It works like this:

We are getting too old to remember or care to shave so ...

Thanks for the compliments on the web site but I must pass credit to Grace, the other half of my madness.

I'll post pictures as soon as I put them somewhere they can be linked.

If there were only 25 hours in a day then I could sleep for 5. Passion will do that to you.
