    It would be good if you had pictures. I am betting they ARE scuds. Those are about the only other "shrimpy" thing out there. Probably copepods too, but I wouldn't call them "shrimpy". They are really tiny. Seed shrimp may be there, but they look like swimming dots, not shrimp.

    One other thing to be weary of in pond situations is leaches. Young leaches look like a tiny black spot or speck that will be there one moment and gone the next. If they get on a fish or any other living thing, it's as good as dead. If what she sold you has that many unidentified creatures in it, there is no telling what else is there. May even Dragon Fly Nymphs and you sure don't need them.
