'WHEN' you move permanently.....you'll only need to wear a sweater in the winter....for the 3 months or so that it gets cold....

David, have you ever lived that far north? There will be need for more than a sweater...I assure you.

yeah it gets old from mid dec to mid march. Around the low 30's is as cold as it will get in the winter. So thats maybe 20 days or so for the whole year.

81 cuttin, I don't know where you are talking about 30 degree weather being as cold as it gets during the winter, but if it's North East Tenn, I would say you are mistaken. I live in NE Florida near Jacksonville and we had 17, 18, 19 and 20 degree nights here for over two weeks this past winter.

I grew up in Western PA....had the snow belt effect off of Lake Erie. When you grow up in it, you don't know that there is life 'other then snow'....lol.
I remember running out to get milk, out of the extra fridge in my Dad's workshop. Just to upset my Mom...I would do it barefoot. The snow wasn't bad....the concrete floor was COLD ! 'Now', I'm cold at anything below 75.....

I went back to PA, one winter, to go deer hunting with my Dad....durring the 1st week back here in FL, I wasn't wearing my jacket. Yes, everyone else was, but it seemed warm to me !

After Jackalope's tales of 'how cold' it gets, where he lives now and 'how long'.....I figure the winters in Tenn will be a cake walk !......the 'wearing a sweater' was just a 'razz' anyway.

I lived in Orangedale and worked in Jax.....for many years. I've seen it snow more then once while there. But some winters were mild. I have pictires of my son, at Christmas, where in the background, you can see the door and windows are open.

I agree with the "anything below 75 and you are probably right about Jackalope and the sweater...it'll take a while for his blood to thin to the point that 30 degrees is cold
