i have worms in my flood and drain growbeds, they're half river gravel on the bottom and 1 50 liter bag on top each bed... a couple have washed through (the fish make quick work of them), but i've found them whenever i move a plant... i think i put 1 dozen in each growbed, each growbed is a half a 55 gallon barrel
Hi Elaidlaw, I don't know if I said 'welcome to the forum' yet ?
I'm not seeing a picture...?
Most folks are using 'agggeregate ' of 3/4 inch....smaller 'can' plug up faster.
Two thoughts on your worms....I wonder 'if' the lava is too rough for them ? Also, I wonder 'if' they had enough to eat ?
I've seen where people add feeding stations to the beds. A piece of pvc pipe placed vertically into the beds....which has holes in it. They drop veggies and stuff for the worms to eat. Banana skins are a great way, to get the worms to help add potassium.
Since your a school teacher...I better use my spell check.....
