I am thinking it is a male as well, but would like someone more knowledgable than me to confirm. I had one of my breeder fish die today and it's privates look exactly the same as what you have pictured. I pulled up this publication and from the pic, think it is a male.

Random Thoughts: There is some truth in every newspaper and magazine, you just need to know where to look....
For instance: The name, price, date, and page numbers are usually always true!
