    Loop Siphons

Any suggestions on loop siphons in order to get them perfectly working? I have a small flood and drain system with two grow beds 36X24X8 and 100 gallon fish tank about to start my first cycling process! Just wondering if there were any hidden facts you must know to get loop siphons w/hoses right?

Apartment Aquaponics: I made a 8'X8' frame out of 2X6's covered with plasic with space rug on top (a large bowl per say); just wondering if anyone had a better idea to protect floor?

Never tried a Loop Siphon, but I know I did not have any luck with any designs of the Bell Siphon. Not sure if this will work for you but maybe worth a try. Under to search tab on the upper right hand corner of the home page type in "Pipe Siphon by Apollo". Works great, cheap, easy to build.

    Re: Loop Siphons

I have not use loop syphons but did have a bell syphon on my small system....
I found that I continually had to "tweek" it to keep it running properly. This may have been due to pump inconsistencies but it got old very fast.....
I converted my GB to a continuous flow using a standpipe to regulate amount of water in my system.
My system is now doing better than ever before....
That is just my thoughts and experience...

Maybe. Sometimes my wife thinks I'm an aquaponaholic.
I'd rather be ready 6 months too early than one day too late.
