how many fish per 10' grow medium

    hi new to the forum

    Some knowledge but not enough.
A 10 square foot bed needs 10lb of fish right? If i get tilaphia fingerlings at say 1oz each thats 16 per pound and 160 per tank right? My tropical fish lady says one inch of fish per gallon of water any more then that they will not reach full growth. 160 gallons just to start, a couple or so months later they double in size. Ok what remove half the 2oz fishes ?

Ok former post showed I am not a math professor sorry duh!!!
    Thanks darryl

you'll get lots of different answers, but what does work is basing your fish load on the amount of filtration you have..
for every 100 gallons of media growbed, you can grow out about 20lbs of fish - thats the grown out size,, so 20 fish that you plan on growing out to 1lb..
