I have both slicing (Burpless) and pickling cukes growing. After side by side taste tests, I've concluded that pickling cukes far surpass the flavor and texture of slicing cukes when sliced raw into a salad.

I'll let this current crop continue, but in the future, I'm only going to plant pickling cukes. No sense wasting valuable growing space on less than optimally flavored veggies! Besides which, picklers can be sliced, but slicers don't make good pickles.
