    Ladybug nesting?

I was expecting to see orange eggs appearing on the leaves but I haven't seen any yet. I did see a few ladybugs camping on something though. I can't quite make out what it is but they won't leave it.

At any new garden I always let the aphids get out of control. The lady bugs come and never leave, ever. Can't say the same for the aphids

    Re: Ladybug nesting?

They cleaned house on the aphids... all except for a colony on a few of the russian kale leaves. It seems that the lady bugs are careful not to kill all the aphids... is it possible that they are farming them now? heh heh I dunno, it just seems that way, since they devoured the aphids everywhere except for that patch.

Whatever that ladybug is camping on, it isn't an aphid. Any ideas? I mean they stay on these things 24/7.

It's possible that they left but they must have come back to the exact same spot.

I have seen ants, cockroaches, even lizards do this repeatedly. Perhaps they all took the same survival training class???

Finally started seeing the little orange football clusters today. Looks like 5 to 7 weeks for gestation. They layed the eggs right next to the spot where they had been leaving the aphids alone.
