I am having alot of issues with keeping the temp at a steady degree outside in the raft system. Any tips? I also was wondering what temp is ideal for a floating raft system growing lettuce with talapia. Thanks

how big is your ft? what's the volume of the floating raft area? not much to go on..
to warm? to cold?

have you looked at using a "local" fish?

In addition to those key questions, what part of Florida are you in? My natives died in my fish pond due to the weather spikes.

80F is a fair compromise, at little high for the plants, a little cool for the fish. A greenhouse is the way to go. Be sure you can vent it well in summer to prevent overheating. You'll need to grow something besides normal lettuse in summer. Heat makes it bitter.

Thank You for your response. It is in Orlando. It is a 3 x 8 raft system. I have approximately 250 gallons of water which I have wrapped with insulation. I am thinking I should wrap the filter box also. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
