If you were concerned about JCO's email post, digest this :!: :!: I never knew this existed, am I dumb or did the legislature forget to mention this to their voters/constituents? Did the MSM keep this from their public, i.e. the people of this state? Whatever happened to the "people's right to know" that the newshawgs are constantly using as a reason to print things which are really none of anyone else's business? (What is Brittany up to, which body part is Janet going to expose this week, will George file for divorce, does Charlie drink more than 2 drinks a night, & etc. ad nauseum)

Remember the so-called "swine-flu epidemic" of recent times? Our current President (among other FUDsters*) even called it a "Public Health Emergency" more than once :!: :!:

Wiki article on the Model State Emergency Powers Health Act:

The proposal has been criticized for what has been called a "sweeping reach" that could be abused by governments. <snip>Critics said, however, that it did so in such sweeping language that it "could turn governors into dictators" as the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons claimed, and Phyllis Schlafly called it "an unprecedented assault on the constitutional rights of the American people."

The very definition of a "public health emergency," which triggered the law's provisions, critics said, was so broad that an influenza outbreak could qualify as an "emergency". The LAMBDA Legal Defense and Education Fund feared it could lead to imprisonment of those with AIDS.

"A model state public health law to better protect and promote the public's health"

Under the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, upon the declaration of a "public health emergency," governors and public health officials would be empowered to:

1. Force individuals suspected of harboring an "infectious disease" to undergo medical examinations.
2. Track and share an individual's personal health information, including genetic information.
3. Force persons to be vaccinated, treated, or quarantined for infectious diseases.
4. Mandate that all health care providers report all cases of persons who harbor any illness or health condition that may be caused by an epidemic or an infectious agent and might pose a "substantial risk" to a "significant number of people or cause a long-term disability." (Note: Neither "substantial risk" nor "significant number" are defined in the draft.)
5. Force pharmacists to report any unusual or any increased prescription rates that may be caused by epidemic diseases.
6. Preempt existing state laws, rules and regulations, including those relating to privacy, medical licensure, and--this is key--property rights.
7. Control public and private property during a public health emergency, including pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, nursing homes, other health care facilities, and communications devices.
8. Mobilize all or any part of the "organized militia into service to the state to help enforce the state's orders."
9. Ration firearms, explosives, food, fuel and alcoholic beverages, among other commodities.
10. Impose fines and penalties to enforce their orders.

This has been on the books for quite a while in some states - were you aware of it? And why is a public health law confiscating/rationing guns, explosives, food, fuel and alcoholic beverages, among other commodities? I'll definitely be looking up the laws in my state to see what they have allowed here!

*Note: FUD was an anachronism coined by an anonymous Linux user in describing M$'s constant attacks on Linux, BSD, and other Open Source Operating Systems during the 90's - it stands for "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt")

Remember when Obama was running for office.....he talked about creating a 'private force' just as strong (armed) as the military and have (more) funding ?

It's buried inside of ObamaCare, reads like the State Emergency Health Powers Act, except it's for the entire country.

we really live in scarey times and the younger generations have lost the will to stand up for their rights in this country as long as they have their toys.

Sad, but true. Complacent, blind trust in the system, and comfortable with their lifestyle hoping nothing changes except the next new fashion (or TV channel)...
