I need to make some connections thru the wall of the IBC that I'm gonna use for a fish tank. Since both are at the water line or below I need to figure out something water proof. These are for the overflow lines to feed the grow beds and to maintain the fish tank level. I would like something that is 1.5" or 2" pvc. Has anyone had experience doing this? The hardware stores that I shop at really don't have anything that will work.

is where I get mine.

A cheaper solution is to use PVC electrical conduit bulkhead fittings. They are not as strong, but they work OK. I put a rubber o-ring on both sides and then coat it with aquarium calk before I tighten the fittings up.

Thanks Badflash! The emt connectors look like they are going to work, they are straight threaded instead of tapered so they will tighten all the way down. I purchased some over the lunch hour. Again, thanks for the info. :D

Here's another option .... I'm going to use these next time instead of Bulky bulkhead fittings ;)
Uniseals® from Aquatic Ecosystems, Inc. (http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/829/Uniseals)

I know this a late post on the topic, but i've been using Uniseals for two years, in my 55 gal. filter tanks with no leaking. I really like them.
