Hi! I am joining this board because of some good hits on worm usage and vermiponics.

I am trying to make organic aeroponics work at home. I grow (conventionally fertillized) aeroponic microgreens and herbs commercially. I want to do this with aquaponic-inspired techs, like ebb and flow worm beds, leca and kaldnes trickle and moving bed biofilters, vortex solids filters, etc etc.

Worms are my latest interest, to ease the use of organic inputs. If red wigglers really do survive in aerated water, I am going to try it... so far I'm thinking LECA/hydroton with coconut fibre coir, on an acrylic felt liner in a plastic poly growing tub, to put the worms, an autosiphon to keep it ebbing and flowing... any ways that I don't have to reinvent any wheels, that you can point me to, thanks!!!

We have a great FAQ (http://diyaquaponics.com/forum/faq.php) button for navigating the website controls, etc. at the top of the page, next to the "Members" button, please check it out if you haven't already done so.
We also have another FAQ (http://diyaquaponics.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=93) section which contains many of the hints and tips that have been collected along the way ..........

I think, with vermiponics, you will want to have an inch or two of media (hydroton, pea gravel, coir etc.), above the water level so that the worms don't get waterlogged. I've had worms die in the bottom of my worm beds because they drowned in the collection of the liquids.

Just my 2 centavos .......
