an avenue which has not been discussed here that i can find is the growing of ornamental plants and flowers (though they may be edible) for the flower market. no heath department, no permits that i know of required and a way to earn a little extra income. because they can be grown in tighter places with less light requirements and, also many plants are stimulated to bloom by the shortening of the day might be worth looking into. sump solids and system water bleed off can go to water plants like orchids that need water only once or twice a week.

If you are into making money rather than food, seems this is a great idea. I know greenhouse growers who provide themselves with a good living with cut flowers. It is funny, people want cheap food, but are willing to spend a small fortune on a dozen roses. Seems a bit backwards doesn't it?

I think water garden plants would also pay well, and work perfectly into the system. Water hyacinth will eat up a lot of nitrates!

You can buy that steak without the money you make! :-)
Water hyacinth are great for pollution removal.
