I have a 600+ gallon tank with fish pumping into a 400 gallon biofilter tank with cattails, rushes, etc growing in lava rock. Working on a design to integrate some veg grow beds into the existing ponds while maintaining the "looks". Not much additional room to work with either as the tanks are in a corner of the yard. We will see what happens.

We also have another FAQ (http://diyaquaponics.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=93) section which contains many of the hints and tips that have been collected along the way ..........

I'd like to hear more about raising cattails ..... we used to use cattails for a veggie back a few more years than I want to speculate .... the roots are good in stews, and the center of the stalk, when it's green, makes a good snack stick .... tastes like a cross between an onion and a garlic kinda .... pix, pix, pix ..........

Cattails can produce more starch per acre than potatoes. Been looking into them for making fuel.
