I started some pacu too see if I can get them to plate size before the water gets cold again. The things came out of the bag eating and have not stopped. I知 told the taste is comparable too trout. We値l see.

Not done them, but have read they are:
Hard to breed
Bony.
Tough for high densities
Idiots will confuse them with piranha and villagers with torches will descend upon you.

Villagers with torches AND pitchforks ! They just aren't the same without the pitchforks....maybe an old musket or two, also..... :lol:

I came across a crazy lookin fish in a nearby creek. It was not a pacu but I found this site that I thought was interesting.

If you have a picture of it, I am sure that I can tell you what it is.... My degree and specialty is fish taxonomy....

There are a few pacu in the canal at the end of my street. This one bottomed out a 30 pound scale.
