Hello everyone,

My name is Michael MacDonell and I wanted to introduce myself to the board. I am doing research for a aquaponic system to be installed at my home. It will be placed on a deck surface that I will converting to a greenhouse space.

Thanks, Michael

Make sure the deck can handle the load. You may need to reinforce it a bit. Large water tanks weigh quite a bit.

Or cut a hole in the deck and have the tank sitting on the ground. How high is the deck.

The deck is just a foot high on the low end and 4 1/2 high on the other end. I will put in a few reinforcements on the high end and recess the fish tank on the low end and rest it on the dirt below.

Michael,

I was wondering how you aquaponics garden is going? What part of Atlanta do you live in? Do you know anyone in Atlanta that has an aquaponics garden that I might be able to check out? I am in the beginning stages of possibly setting up a system and just wanted to see one in action. Any info you have or if you would let me come check out yours I would be grateful.
