I've got a cucumber that's doing quite well in the basement system (http://www.diyaquaponics.com/forum/showthread.php?2095-Getting-Ready-for-the-basement&highlight=Getting+Ready), but it's got a bunch of white spots on the leaves. I have noticed a few little white bugs crawling around - could they be the cause, or is it some sort of deficiency?

Here's a pic

Thanks!

I would have to go with it is the bugs that are killing the plants. If you could take a close up of the bugs someone might have encountered them before. Myself, we have had aphids show up on our indoor plants before, but it could be a list of bugs. White flies, aphids or mealy bugs. Are they white and grouped together?

I think I saw a tiny white grub-like bug. The spots don't look to have bugs in or around them. I'll see if I can get a pic of the bugs.

Jason, I see you're in Edmonton as well! I live in Jackson Heights area; where abouts are you?

Well it really is a small world. I live in the community of West Jasper / Sherwood. About 5 minutes from West Edmonton Mall.

I think the white spots are damage the bugs cause, then move on. Are there webs or are the leaves sticky?

I work at West Edmonton Mall. Too cool.

There don't seem to be any webs or stickiness. The spiders have hatched, here and some have found their way into the fishroom, so hopefully they'll find the little pests.
