Below is the content of an email I received last night from David-WI (Badger)

Hi JCO,
I found the e-mail messages from you and WOAAT in the "spam trap" so that's solved. I haven't been able to access the diyaquaponics site or forum since last week. If I go to: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ ... onics.com/ (http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://diyaquaponics.com/) it shows that the site is "up" but I've tried Google Chrome & Internet Explorer from work and home and all I get is "the site is not responding" or "the site cannot be found" or errors like that. When I run the diagnostic on my connection it says my computer is configured correctly but the site is not responding.

I don't know if anybody else is having the same problem or not, since I can't get to the site to ask. LOL

So, just letting you know that there could be a problem. I can access every other site I try.

David

Has anyone of you experienced this happening to you?

As of about 7 last night I'm able to get onto the site from home and now this morning from work, but parts of the site (like the logo at the top) are not loading.

I have had no problems at all since the last fix, knock on wood. The sight seems to be working well on my end.

Weird. I can view the forum now but if I click the "Home" link above I get:

oops.jpg[/attachment:1o8w4n81]

I don't know "where" the problem is, because I'm not having trouble accessing any other sites... but it still may just be on my end.

@David - WI

Disable your proxy settings in your browser and clear your cache. Try it from a different browser when you get this error. If it pulls up in a different browser from the same machine it's likely the browser application is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled. If you are the only one with the problem, it's very likely something in your machine is the issue. In rare cases, it could be your ISP, but in 2013 that is very unlikely.

There is nothing JCO can do on his end (unless it was a compatibility or display issue of some sort). Let us know more when you try all that.

I'm just posting this "audit" (for this page: http://www.diyaquaponics.com/forum/search.php?search_id=unreadposts) in case somebody knows what it all means. It looks like the site logo, the tapatalk detect, and the background gif are failing to load. The site logo is missing it's "dimensions" but I don't know if that would cause it to fail or not.

logofail.jpg[/attachment:25efkbal]

These are the audit results:

Leverage browser caching (2)
The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime: stylesheet.css
The following resources are explicitly non-cacheable. Consider making them cacheable if possible: search.php

Minimize cookie size The average cookie size for all requests on this page is 38?B

Specify image dimensions (1)
A width and height should be specified for all images in order to speed up page display. The following image(s) are missing a width and/or height: diyaquaponics.com/forum/styles/subsilver2/imageset/site_logo.gif

Web Page Performance
Optimize the order of styles and scripts (1)
The following external CSS files were included after an external JavaScript file in the document head. To ensure CSS files are downloaded in parallel, always include external CSS before external JavaScript.
1 inline script block was found in the head between an external CSS file and another resource. To allow parallel downloading, move the inline script before the external CSS file, or after the next resource.

Remove unused CSS rules (86)
86 rules (73%) of CSS not used by the current page.
Inline block #1: 100% is not used by the current page.
stylesheet.css: 72% is not used by the current page.

David,

I have no idea what the problem is that persist for you being able to access the forum, however you are apparently the only one effected. Did you check with your internet provider to see it they could have had anything to do with it.

As for all the items mentioned, I didn't program the software that runs the forum and therefore have no way of changing anything your info suggest.

Borrow a friend's laptop, go to a friends house and access it from there and if it's accessible there OK, take it home and hook it to your internet and see if it is still screwed up at your home.

I have no better suggestions for you at this time but will sure be interested to find out what your major malfunction is

The site was not accessible for a couple days from home or work, desktop or laptop, Chrome or IE 10... but both IP's are through Charter Internet, so who knows.

David, did you ever get your problem with the site figured out? Are you still having problems with the site/head banner etc. :?:

No, but I can't waste/spend any more time on it.

I only posted the info in case you were losing a bunch of traffic due to the same problems that I was having with site... but it really means nothing to me.

I re-submitted the url of your forum to Charter's DNS servers one night, and the next morning I could view the discussions. But, if I click the "Home" link above I still get:

If they are, they probably can't view the forum either! LOL
I have (hopefully) someone at Charter looking into it, maybe it will turn out to be just my settings (on both computers, at both locations, with both browsers) and I can just fix it with their help.
