I just got a vacuum to clean solids off the bottom of my 175 gallon IBC made fish tank. It is a pool and spa vacuum made by Game. I bought it on Amazon and it works great. Easy to use and no falling out of particles as you pull it out of the tank. I think this was $40 well spent.

Glad to hear Roger, and thanks for sharing; gives me an idea - I have a pool vacuum that I can use the same way if need be. Give it double duty and get more for my money. The tank is very clean atm, but them dirty fish will eventually muck it up.

I use a small shop-vac to get the "shtuff" out of my system...Works good and is cheap too....someone gave it to me... :lol:

I was using a shop vac Don but it pulled to much water out. This you can pump the water out befor pulling it out of the tank.

So what you are saying is you have started a "MAID SERVICE"... for septic situations and you vacuum sh*t for $40 bucks or maybe I have miss-read.. You don't use the washer and dryer on the fish do you :?: :shock: :mrgreen:

I used the Battery Vac Aquarium Vacuum Cleaner (http://www.thepoolfactory.com/pool-supplies/pool-cleaners-vacuums/battery-powered-vacuums) and its great for complete cleaning of my tank. It works perfectly and make the water clean. The price of the cleaner is also very affordable, its was only $17.
