New Member!

Hi all,
I'd like to introduce myself. I joined these forums just a minute ago and am still trying to find my way around. I am female, 25, currently posting from Ottawa, Canada.

I have absolutely no background in fish, pet or plant care. Out of curiosity, I started a mini aquaponics system in my bedroom about 2 month ago and I have yet to perfect it. It has bee a long process, so I am here on the DIY Aquaponics forum to seek help and share my experiences with fellow users.

In the future, when I have a full grasp of the aquaponics systems, I hope to build a large scale for regular fish and vegetable consumption in a self sustaining home.

I currently have a:
20 gallon tank
9 Tropical Platy fish (2 adults, 2 teenagers, 5 fry)
2ft x 6" planter
3 Herb plants (Thai basil, Italian basil, chives)

I'm excited to join this community and learn from all of you :)

Welcome...I see it's too late to warn you about the Aquaponics Addiction.

Just so you know and understand, there is no shot or cure for it so buckle up for the long ride ahead.

It can get bumpy at times but you are safe and in good hands on this forum 8-) :mrgreen:
