Hey guys,
So I was recommended by someone to spray my plants down with a solution of MaxiCrop, Molasses, and Worm Tea every other day to keep my plants nice and healthy and keep some pesky bugs away. The guy who recommended it did not give measurement amounts, so I kind of just guessed. I really just poured and didn't use exact measurements, but if I were to guess I would say I added 3 tablespoons of molasses, 2 ounces of maxicrop, and filled the bottle (32oz bottle) up all the way with tank water. I sprayed my plants down and walked away.

The next day I come out and I see these nasty black dots all over my plants! The tomato plant has turned worse over hte past few days and looks pretty nasty. The culantro (Carribean cilantro, loves heat) is all speckled and nasty looking too, which sucks as you eat these leaves which are now tainted. I think/hope the culantro is just stained from the MaxiCrop, but is my tomato plant diseased or some type of burn? I only have this problem on two spots of my plant, both spots are where the tomato plant is touching a pepper plant. One is a Bell Pepper Plant and another a Banana Pepper plant. Should I cut these branches off?

Can anyone provide me a proper mixture amount for molasses and maxicrop? Or should I just not use this method at all?

Well, from the looks of the leaves, I'd say you probably mixt it a little too hot, but I'll let the 'experts' give the answers on that - it looks like the mixture collected in certain areas and burned them! I read that the proper mix for molasses should be about 4 teasp./gallon of water in some cases and 1 Tbsp/gal in others. I've never used any of the commercial ferts. becuz I want to keep things as organic as possible, and you can never tell what they're putting into some of this stuff.

Read this article Clik ;) (http://buymarijuanaseeds.com/community/threads/molasses-is-sweet-organic-goodness.95401/) for more info on molasses.

It's mentioned on this DIY thread What are my peppers lacking?Clik ;) (http://www.diyaquaponics.com/forum/showthread.php?1648-What-are-my-peppers-lacking/page8&highlight=peppers+lacking) and the thread itself may also give you a lot of help :!:

Jackalope - I plucked a lot of leaves today. It seemed to have spread today to other branches. I'm not sure what is going on. I am with you on keeping things organic as possible. I have followed the "lacking peppers" thread. I have a few posts on there. Thanks for all the insight. I'll keep you tuned in. Hopefully I won't be ripping the whole plant out.

It sounds like you're using about 10 - 12 times as much MaxiCrop as recommended... maybe that could be the problem?

looks like a fungal infection to me. Too much humidity is usually to blame. Do be careful with most chemical treatments as they can be toxic to fish. I do not think this is fertilizer related.

Only "fertilizers" I used was MaxiCrop and Molasses. Which I have read are both organic and fish safe. I am leaning to a fungal infection too. I am afraid I may need to yank the whole tomato plant. Even after picking the "black" leaves, I still noticed black spots appearing on other leaves this morning. Are there any rememedies to kill fungus? Humidity is Florida's middle name, so no doing away with that. I hope it doesn't spread to my other plants...

Remove all infected leaves. Open up the plants so air can flow. If the plants are totally infected they have to go. I'll check for fish save fungusides, but copper based sprays is what usually what works, and fish have issues with too much of that.
