Hello All,

I have built a beautiful grow room in my basement here in NH gallon tank, but I can't seem to get it cycled. I just did a 50% water change after reading about ammonia being to high when cycling without fish. It's been three weeks and I have yet to see a single measurable nitrite reading! The room is pretty air tight so I am thinking it may be lack of air flow but every time I open the door to the room it lowers the tank temp. Am I doing something wrong?

My readings are as follows:
PH: 7 - 7.5
Ammonia: Now at 4ppm it looks like
Temp: 77 to 80 F

Thank in advance for ANY advice you guys can offer!

Josh

it will take about 6 weeks to cycle, with the ammonia at 4 i'd leave everything just like it is, and be patient..
get some plants in if you have them

Find someone with a healthy aquarium (NOT a pet store) and have them clean out their filter into a clean bucket with their used aquarium water. Add this to your system and you will be good to go.
