Hello. I'm new to aquaponics and thanks for this forum.
My question is where can I get the water for fish.
I'd like to have 800 gallon over for initial use.
Can I use water from lagoon? If so, how to clean?
Can I use tap water? If so, how to clean the chemicals in the water?
Should I buy clean water? If so, where can I get it?

I'm in North California.
Thanks in advance.

check with your water company to see if they use chlorine, or chloramines.. chlorine will off gas in 24 hours with aeration and flow, chloramine can be a little more problematic, i'd use vitamin c (ascorbic acid) to treat

Thank you so much!
I checked the water's quality datasheet. "Chlolamine (as Chlorine)" is 0.9-2.8ppm.
In another forum, someone mentioned 'for up to 3ppm chloramine would be about 1000mg for 30-50 gal'.
I hope this works and doesn't lower the PH.

It's an acid, it may lower the ph.

My dallas tap water comes out at almost 9, so i welcome php down, though i dont think i have ever seen a significant change.
