Salvinia minima (water spangles) usefulness?

This stuff grows like crazy! There has to be some use for it. Does anyone know what this stuff is good for? I thought it was maybe related to the duckweed, but unfortunately it's not even close.

Do fish eat it ? If not, Compost.

Since it's considered invasive in 46 states, there is the question of it being legal to have it and/or transport it.

This stuff grows as fast as duckweed, but I cannot find a use for it. I think I will stick with the duckweed! :-)

Oh yes, that's true! I also read a few papers that stated it removed all heavy metals very efficiently. I can't think of a way to apply that that's useful for us though. Most systems are fairly low in copper since it's toxic to the fish. Who knows... good thought though :-)

Duck weed can remove metals so well, that it can be toxic to eat it.... :roll:

So far it looks like 'compost' and/or just grow it to remove nutes, if you have nothing else growing.
