Hey, thanks for having a great forum!

A little about me. I'm a new aquaponist - as of April 2009. I have a 250G IBC conversion with too little growbed space...for now.

I'm a recent father and happily married to my old climbing partner. We live in Vista, CA.

I'm an active duty US Marine, currently serving in Afghanistan. I'm vigorously pursuing options for AP in Afghanistan. I've been pitching the concept, almost non-stop...and I'm finally getting some traction. I will likely be leaning on folks back home to assist me in my idea building.

Guess that's it.

Thanks!

Glad to have you! Thanks for your service!

My son will likely be joining you in the fall.

If you need any help pitching, we're all here! I was an Army Partrooper myself, but my younger brother was a "jarhead" (during Viet Nam), so we're kinda closely related ;). Semper Fi :!: :!:

Ooh Rah! to my fellow Devil Dogs and service member veterans! It's good to see so many of us in here trying to take care of the place we already swore to defend. I don't think others see us in that light often enough. Too often, we are thought to be gun toting killers, when more often we spend our time providing humanitarian aid, in one form or another. Anyhow, great to have some brothers in this community.

Be well and thanks for the support.

UPDATE ON THE AFGHAN PROJECT:
We have quite a bit of gear in route from Aquaponics UK and some of their commercial sponsors. They have been kind enough to send pumps, PV panels, water testing kits, and several other wonderful tools to get us started. We are still awaiting a tank, and the groundbreaking for a school reconstruction project. However, we should be in full swing come mid-September.
