I found an 800watt inverter at Lowes

I have a few 12 volt tractor batteries to use also. I'm working on designing a circuit that would switch power automatically when either I have a power loss or the battery is at full charge.

I'm working on a circuit design but I'm just curious if anyone has wiring diagrams already for something like this.

I've also been keen to sort out a suitable backup arrangement and have adapted a circuit diagram credited to Elisamuel Sierra aka 'samtheman' I found whilst searching the net a while back.

Note that I've used 240v, not 110v to match Australian mains power.

The schematic was created using TinyCAD - a small free open source software package that is easy to use. So that any amendments can be made to the linked document a PDF version is located at: http://www.grandporc.com.au/ap/AP_batte ... ch_box.pdf (http://www.grandporc.com.au/ap/AP_battery_backup_240v_switch_box.pdf)

The switch box is located very close to the other gear so that cable lengths are kept as short as possible (longer cable runs = larger cable to carry the current).
