I'm not new to gardening or electronics. And joined this Site for aquaponics info. But now I want to know more about greenhouses. What is yours is it a kit or all diy please fill me in its awesome and materials seemed basic and not incredibly expensive.

Hi Joe,

I bought the plans for the dome from a guy in the UK. The link is in the video 'More Info' box. I bought all the wood and stuff from Lowes mostly. Greenhouse film was bought at a local supply house.

Here are links to video updates that I did during construction.

1. *Getting started .... Making the triangles and then clamping together the first Hexagon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMzxHCsKU5o

1.2 *Digging and laying the air lines for the Subterranean Heating and Cooling system
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jioByzLV7RU

2. *November 11 update... clamping the first Pentagon together
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C91Ixb_V6tQ

3. *November 27 update... applying the greenhouse film... Tufflite 6 mil film with all the protective layers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLH_xUFLMcY

4. *December 24 update... 3 of the 5 grow beds have the plumbing hooked up and are beginning to circulate thru the system
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntxxKYm3I-c

5. *December 25 update... installing the fish tank and filling with water... I ended up draining the first batch of tea water and refilling with flesh rain water from the all day downpour... I had an algae bloom the day after though
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAi3X606WW8

6. *January 6, Air pump update- *In order to combat the algae, I needed a strong air pump so I got a Danner AP 20 air blaster with 1/2" air hose and 6 air outs including two 12" air stones and 4 mini stones

7. *January 22 update... I just added 10 rather large Blue Nile Tilapia fish that I bought from another aquaponics enthusiast a few towns over and am just checking them out.

8. *February 2 Update... The dome and AP system are pretty much complete. *Here's my daughter feeding the fish. *

9. *February 5 update... The tilapia are incredible poopers and overwhelmed my little filter so I built a better one. *This one incorporates red wiggler worms that don't have any problem living in the expanded clay media even when it's under water. *The water is super oxygenated so they can actually live under water as long as the oxygen is high enough. *I have found escapees in the auxiliary sump that were there still squirming for at least 2 days before I put them back in the the poo filter container. *I updated this design after this video though raising it about 5 inches up so that the top stays above water. *I also added red wigglers to each of the grow beds and also added a separate worm composter bin to the green house. *I put in banana peels, romaine stems, excess fish solids etc. *

My earlier trial of an experimental fish poo filter failed under the overwhelming flow of poo so I figured it was time to try a swirl filter instead. I don't have space for a huge 55 gallon drum so my version is more of a mini swirl filter but doing good so far. The other fish poo filter has been moved to the digester tank for a lighter work load. The worms seem happier now.

Here's a video if you wanna give it a look:

Just a few updated pics...

The Campari tomatoes were grown from seeds that I took from the tomatoes that I bought from the store.

I really like your greenhouse (always loved the domes) and the way you have it set up... looks very "neat" and easy to work around.
