Nah, it ain't a stink bug. We've had stink bugs and it doesn't look like them.

Looks like an assassin bug (Reduviidae).

Can be considered a beneficial insect.

I was thinking that it could be an assassin bug too but it didn't seem to have the proboscis. I had planned on just keeping an eye on him to see what he would do but the wife found him and didn't like the looks of him... squish..
