Okay go ahead and laugh, I guess it can be funny.
I am about 50 percent or so color blind. And that is the only thing that prevented me to become a fighter pilot!

So, what is the best way for me to take care of the PH and other stuff that color is involved for testing?
Is there an electronic gadget that can do it for me?

I work in the municipal water industry and I have seen testers that read the color of the water to determine the results. Similar to a spectrometer. It takes the human error out. I will see if I can find out where to get one. Most of the water testing meter are a bit spendy, in case you hadn't noticed that already.

I did some searching for photometer.

http://www.palintest.com/media/uploads/1165.pdf about $1100

http://www.amazon.com/Hanna-Instruments-Multiparameter-Photometer-Environmental/dp/B005FH31KE about $415
^^^ best deal so far.

enjoy!

Thanks for the information.
I guess if I do not find a better (cheaper) solution, that might do it.

You could also get one of these;

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... er&x=0&y=0 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dindustrial&field-keywords=digital+ph+meter&x=0&y=0)

Yes, that can be used for PH, but what about the ammonia, nitate, and nitrite?

I thought we have to check at least for 3 things, and only one of them is the PH level.

Thanks for the information.

do you have a test kit? i've used the "hold the test tube over the card" trick.. the color that is closest to what is in the tube will not show up behind it
after testing for a few months, and seeing how your system is behaving, you'll start to see when things aren't quite right in your system, that's when it's important to test
