Got these off someone on freecycle. Don't know the type. Would appreciate an id if possible.

The angle of the picture makes it hard to make out the exact shapes. Take a better picture. Do you know ANYTHING about it?

My initial guess is that it's in the Cucurbitaceae family if we limit our options to more commonly gardened veggies. Plant ID is not my thing though. Whatever it is, it doesn't look like anything I've grown unless those leaves are broader than they appear in the picture...

looks like UBE (purple) it is a starchy root crop plant can grow from a small seed that comes from flowers. Generally grows in tropical areas. It also looks like it could be a Yam or a bean of some sort..

Just heard back from the guy I got it from. Says it's Vietnamese spinach.

That would be Kom Kong. Yes it looks like Kom Kong it grows in fresh water wet lands. It is a vine. We eat it all the time very nutritious.

Discovered that the koi love it too. Vine fell into the water and they stripped it bare. So already being self sustaining.
