Hey guys,

Egg Shell trick to make calcium. I'm just curious if anyone has any data to show if too much calcium derived from egg shells can be damaging to the fish or plants.

Not that I really expect my water to continually hit below ph6, but it seemed like a promising solution for just in case scenarios and also a great way to organically introduce trace calcium into the system.

I do have free range organic grain fed chickens in my back yard and we normally throw out a lot of egg shells.

No, you will not put too much calcium in the system. Don't even worry about such a thing unless you are pouring pounds of the stuff into a relatively small system... which you won't do anyway, right? :-)
