Been looking thru this form most of the afternoon and it looks like a very friendly and informed group. I'm looking at the possiblity of shrimp farming, I wanted to do fresh water but from what I've read they are good for ponds? I currently have a propeller and machine shop in a 40 X 125 steel building and would like to start with a small test tank to get a feel for the project. I got out of college in the late 70's and wanted to get into aquculture but you needed 16 different Phd's then for anyone to talk to you. So looking for any advice would be great and I'm looking forward to be a part of the community.

Thanks in advance
Scott

hello Sunny Arky, do you mix discus with aquaponics? love your website, absolutely fabulous aquaponic gardens, i could get lost in that world! i have been working with decorative and flowering plants with mixed success.
i would appreciate it if you would start your own "thread". Are you active with discus, if so have you attended aquarama in singapore or the Discus Society of Malaysia show in Kuala Lumpur? i was at both in 2001 concerning discus. i now have goldfish and KOI. the butterfly koi were beautiful in the first video.
wish my chinese son-in-law was close by to translate.
interesting set up, you have.

Rich

stewde,
i had to laugh when i reread you post, in the early 70's i wanted to save the whales, but well into college realized that whales wouldn't pay much. a masters in marine biology which i didn't have, brought in $7.50 per hour, so i have continued through adult life as a contractor wishing i could have gone the other route.
