Hi all,
I've been lurking and researching Aquaponics, trying to understand everything before I jump in and kill some fish. I am at the point of starting small as a prototype before jumping in feet first (I have to admit I am slightly skeeved out by peeing in the water to start the system so I am looking for ammonia without additives).
1)A small tank with some ornamentals - for my mom who loves watercress and greens. I know its going to be small but to show her that it can work.
2)My own 55 gallon barrel setups (DH got these for me from his work place) This is for me.
3) eventually I want a larger system in a green house that will afford me the ability to feed my whole house. I'm already interested in vermaponics because we are avid composters and use that compost in my gardens.

I talk alot when I do talk so I hope to contribute and show my system as I set it up.
Thanks
Sasha

Welcome to the show....pull up an easy chair, relax and stay awhile. New voices are always a welcome addition to our family..! Whatever questions you have on you mind, this is the place to get the answers so pick a topic of your interest and start your own thread and Enjoy.

By the way, I've always wanted to visit your neck of the woods because I have been an avid sailor since the late 60s. Ya, I know...I'm now old and it looks like I will never get to sail those waters...OH Well, in the next life.

Maybe you're right, but there's nothing like a sailor without a boat. Sold my 46' Irwin centercockpit Ketch about 5 years ago, now here I sit on dry land raising veggies and fish. :?
