so i'm finally seeing a doc about a shoulder injury from a long time ago (way long as a matter of fact!)
got a shot of cortizone, but from what was said, i'm looking at probable shoulder replacement, hopefully just partial, but my finger are crossed that the shot gives me a few more years. i don't talk about it at all.. but my wife is disabled (don't get my started on disability! ha) from a failed back surgery.. my stepdaughter has been living with us, so if i do have to go under the knife i'll have help with the house, so i'm not real worried about it, or the surgery itself, just lamenting the aging process

Yup, it does! just had a physical by the time he finished telling me about my options I wasn't hurting quite as bad and figured I'd bring it up again next year!

Let me know how the cortisone works. And good luck with that!

I completely understand... I have issues of my own :-( Pain is a part of my daily routine, but I try to stay active.

i wanted to sleep, but couldn't get comfortable! the cortisone is supposed to relieve the pain, but isn't helping much at this point.. but i'll give it a week..
had bloodwork too, all looked ok

so i'm scheduled for shoulder surgery (SLAP) a week from this monday, to repair a torn labrum, the doc's normal procedure in this type of surgery is to detach the bicep tendon, and re-attach in a different spot.. sounds fun! good news is that it's outpatient, and orthoscopic

only going to miss 2 to 3 weeks of work, and should be better than it's been in a loooong time, healed in 3 to 4 months.. i'm going to follow the post surgery recommendations to the letter, learned the hard way after knee surgery that if you don't, it ain't ever going to be right
