Miniature Veggies?

All of my veggies (except the tomatoes) are miniatures. The squash is no bigger than 6-8 inches, the lettuce (after 2 months) is a microgreen, the beans grew about 1 foot and are producing 3 or 4 beans each, cukes haven't grown hardly at all, the peppers look like weeds, but the tomatoes (if they bloom and fruit) are growing gigantically! Not enough fish poop??

Could be. Are there other signs of plat stress? How is their color?

How much light do they get? Too much light will reduce growth.

Color is good for all but lettuce, it's pale an emaciated .... I use GE "sunshine" (full spectrum) flourescents at 14 hours per day. I read that on one of the Aussie forums a few months ago .... it's supposed to be the optimum lighting period.

Sounds like they just are not getting enough food then.

I found with my system outside in the greenhouse which has become a shade house due to our scorching sunshine that at least with the lettuces they are tough and bitter tasting if there is not enough nutrients in the water. Same thing with stunting if you check a leaf on my systems the leaves are tough and short.

Once I added more fish I found things improving. Here our soil/water is deficient in iron so I added the iron powder from a spent heat pack and found that everything greened up super fast, I did not notice the tell tale color change myself but an observant friend saw it in a photo I sent him of the strawberry plants

Heat triggers bitterness in lettuce and causes it to bolt. Iron is needed for chlorophyll. I use blood meal in small amounts for iron and it works well.
