    Apartment Balcony Aquaponics!

I am new to aquaponics and have very limited space because I live in an apartment but I was determined to give it a try. After about 2 weeks of getting things together it's finally completed. My herbs went into the grow beds about 3 days ago and are doing really well. Questions and comments are welcome!

Fish tank: 55 gallons with an under-gravel filter to keep things circulating - also adds extra oxygen
Water perimeters: ammonia, nitrate, nitrite levels are all 0 // PH is a little high at 8.2 but the fish seem really happy and are eating well.
    Pump: 300 GPH Active Aqua
Grow beds: washed pea gravel and red crawlers
    Plants: various herbs

    Thank you!

My grow beds are filled with pea gravel and have red crawlers in each one.

My set up is really simple, the pump runs every 45 minutes and floods the grow beds. I used PVC to make the connections.

Grow beds draining right into the fish tank stocked with 40 comet goldfish. Fish tank is 55 gallons.

Looks good! You should be able to get some fruiting plants (tomatoes, peppers, etc) once the system matures a bit. Take advantage of the sunlight!

    Red face Thank you

Thanks! I'm at day 10 and all my herbs are still looking good - even grown. I was afraid I would loose some from transplant shock.
