Realistic stocking rates and fish Harvesting

    Hi

I'm looking to put together a business plan for a commercial system growing primarily trout.

I have found information saying that you can stock up to 1lb of trout per 3 us gallons (40kg of trout per m3), but haven't been able to discover how this translates to how much you can harvest.

I have seen information showing that trout can grow to marketable size in 13 weeks, which would equate to 4 harvests per year, but this seems optimistic to me.

If this was the case, it would seem that you could harvest 4lb (160kg) trout on average per 3 gallons (m3) of water each year which seems incredibly high.

Think I must have got something wrong somewhere!

    Can somebody put me straight?

Please go to your profile and put in where you are located. There may be other forum members near by to colaborated with. We will be glad to assist, however we in America are not on the metric system as of yet and your request makes it difficult for us without it being in pounds and gallons. So, please go to your post and click edit and change those measurments so the forum members here do not have to look up what is what and then sit back to see what happens.
